As, we are nearly at the ending stages of the IPL 2021, with just 2 matches remaining including the final. We look at the top 5 flops of this edition of the IPL. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) led by Eoin Morgan, will face Delhi Capitals (DC) led by Rishab Pant, tomorrow, in order to find a place in the final and play against 3 times, champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

While there have been many notable performances throughout the competitions, some heavyweight names failed to make an impact for their franchise.

On that note, we take a look at the top 5 flops of the IPL

#1. Nicholas Pooran (PKBS)

Probably the worst performer in this edition of the IPL. Nicholas Pooran just couldn’t get going. A meagre 85 runs from 12 innings is a performance that cannot be described in words. On top of it, Pooran’s worst nightmare was the four ducks he scored in the 12 innings.

The top-order heavy PBKS once again succumbed to a poor middle-order show with Pooran’s continuous failure throughout the season.

#2. Eoin Morgan (KKR)

Although KKR is in the Qualifiers of the tournament, facing the Delhi Capitals tomorrow, their skipper Eoin Morgan has not been in form at all. He’s been very poor with the bat and has not held the KKR middle-order as expected from the management and fans.

He’s just scored 129 runs in 15 matches, at a merge average of 100. Morgan the England skipper has not been able to connect balls at all and is struggling to find form throughout the tournament.

#3. Hardik Pandya (MI)

With the T20 World cup around the corner, Hardik Pandya has not looked in good touch at all. He’s played some very poor shots and has got out on average deliveries. He is not able to strike the ball at all.

Pandya who’s known for his powerful shots and aggressive batting, he’s just scored 127 runs in 12 matches that he’s playing in the Indian Premier League.

#4. Dan Christian (RCB)

Dan who’s been playing the RCB setup as an all-rounder has not delivered when the team needed time. A low-strings of batting scores has let the team down multiply times. He’s playing 9 matches and just scored 14 runs.

Only 14 runs in 9 big games including a duck. He’s not gone past single-digit scores this IPL season. He’s also been extremely poor with the ball in hand. Not able to find the right line and length, also has just picked up 4 wickets.

#5. Suresh Raina (CSK)

Raina who’s known for his excellent top-order performances is not been able to find form this season. South African fast-bowling legend Dale Steyn said Raina has played like he’s playing school cricket. Shot selections were very poor and were not up to the standards of his own batting.

He scored 160 runs in 12 matches so far in this edition of the IPL. Robin Uthappa who’s replaced him in the side from the last few matches has looked in excellent form and is likely to play in the final as well.
