IPL 2022: Moeen Ali To Land In Mumbai Today After Getting VISA Clearance

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Moeen Ali is all set to land in India later today after getting all the due diligence done. The English cricketer will join the rest of the squad in Mumbai. However, he will have to undergo a mandatory isolation before he can start training.

The 34-year-old Ali, who was one of the four players retained by the franchise ahead of the mega auction this year, is a vital cog in the CSK’s line-up and played a big part in the team’s success last season.

Moeen Ali’s arrival has been delayed after he failed to get the required VISA clearance in due time. However, the air has cleared now and the celebrated cricketer has picked up his papers. According to a report in Cricbuzz, Moeen’s father, Munir Ali, was quoted as saying:

“He (Moeen) picked up his paper yesterday and is ready to fly.”

Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan, the CEO of the franchise, later confirmed the development by saying:

“Moeen will arrive in Mumbai in the evening and will straight away go into isolation.”

The celebrated cricketer won’t feature in the first match of this year’s tournament, where Chennai Super Kings will take on last year’s losing finalists, Kolkata Knight Riders, at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday (March 26).

Moeen Ali will have to undergo three days of quarantine before he can join the practice which rules him out of the first match. He is likely to return to action from the second game.
