The last league game of IPL 2022 will see Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lock horns with Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium. It is a dead rubber given that both teams are out of the playoff race. However, both SRH and PBKS will hope to finish the competition on a high.
Hyderabad have had a difficult season this year. They lost their first two but won their next five to turn their fortunes around before losing the next five in stunning fashion. They did beat Mumbai Indians in their previous game but with the other results not going in their favour, they were knocked out.
SRH will miss their captain Kane Williamson, who went back home which will see Bhuvneshwar Kumar lead the side in the last game. A couple of changes are on the cards with Glenn Phillips likely to get a match in place of Williamson.
Punjab have also endured a similar fate this season. Shahrukh Khan, who was roped in with a mammoth sum, failed to replicate his domestic form and finds himself on the sidelines whereas Ishan Porel has just not been able to break into the XI. Skipper Mayank Agarwal has also struggled to score runs which have been a major concern for PBKS throughout the season.
