If we talk about best friends in cricket we certainly think about MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina. In a recent interview, Suresh Raina has made it clear that he will not play the IPL if the current CSK captain MS Dhoni decides to retire. Raina said he wishes to play for CSK till he retires, and said he will convince Dhoni to play IPL 2022 if CSK wins this year.

The men in yellow finished seven last year when the tournament was held in UAE. This year they seemed to have found their mojo. The team was cruising and were strong contenders for the title.

“I have four-five years left in me. We have the IPL this year, and then two more teams next year. But I think I’ll play only for CSK till I play. I hope we do well this year,” Raina said.

“If Dhoni Bhai doesn’t play next season, I too won’t play. We’ve been playing since 2008 (for CSK)… if we win this year then I’ll convince him to play next year too.”

“I’ll try my best. If he will not play, then I don’t think I will play for any IPL team.”

MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina are the two players you associate with when it comes to the Chennai Super Kings franchise. These two have been brilliant for the team. Last year when the former captain announced his retirement, Suresh Raina followed him.

The former Indian player Raina recently posted a heartfelt tribute to MS Dhoni on his birthday on July 7th.

“Wishing you a very happy birthday MS Dhoni. You have been a friend, brother & mentor to me, all one could ever ask for. May God bless you with good health & long life! Thank you for being an iconic player & a great leader,” Raina captioned the video on Instagram.
