While talking to Sportskeeda, Cricketer turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar talked about an incident from a game where Virender Sehwag frustrated fierce Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar. In the match, Shoaib bowled bouncers one after another to dismiss Sehwag. However, the Nawab of Najafgarh frustrated Rawalpindi Express by ducking all the bouncers.

“In the cricketing circle, it is a well-known fact that he is very funny and there are plenty of cricket-related anecdotes related to him as he has got a very sharp tongue. One such incident took place in Multan where Sehwag had scored 300 runs. During his knock, Shoaib Akhtar got very frustrated and started bowling bouncers. Sehwag had scored more than 200 runs and he was leaving every bouncer,” Manjrekar said.

Sanjay Manjrekar recalled that Shoaib Akhtar got frustrated with Virender Sehwag and asked him to play a pull shot.

“Akhtar kept bowling them and Sehwag kept ducking bouncers. To instigate Sehwag, Akhtar told him – you have scored over 200 runs, I am bowling so many bouncers, at least hit one pull shot. Sehwag looked at him nonchalantly and said – tum bowling kar rahe ho ya bheekh maang rahe ho (are you bowling or are you begging?)” Manjrekar added.
