Mohammad Amir and Virat Kohli have produced the most exciting duels in recent times whenever they have gone against each other. Earlier, the Pakistan superstar has labelled Kohli as the best batsman. However, Mohammad Amir snubbed Kohli while naming the toughest batsman to bowl.

The current generation has witnessed some of the greatest batsmen to dominate the game. From Virat Kohli to Steve Smith to Kane Williamson, they have been a nightmare for the bowlers across the formats. Recently, Mohammad Amir named the toughest batsman to bowl from the current generation as well as the previous generation.

Mohammad Amir picks the toughest batsman; snubs Virat Kohli

Speaking about the previous lot, Amir went for former England batsman Jonathan Trott as the toughest batter. Trott had an impressive career for England which saw him represent the national team in 52 Tests and 68 ODIs and boasted an impressive average. He last played an international game in 2015. Meanwhile, Mohammad Amir went with Steve Smith among the current greats because of his techniques.

“In the past, I would say it was Jonathan Trott. From the current batsmen, it is Steven Smith due to his solid technique,” Mohammad Amir said while answering the question.

However, a few days back, the former Pakistan Test played had heaped praise on India’s Virat Kohli, calling him the best in the business. The world cricket has witnessed a few a nail-biting duel between Amir and Kohli. The Pakistan quick bowled an outstanding spell against India taking his side to the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017. Mohammad Amir troubled Virat Kohli with his swing and pace in that innings in England.

“My overall favourite is Saeed bhai but if you talk about this era then it is Virat Kohli. There is no match to him in this era,” Amir had said.
