Mohammed Siraj has provided Royal Challengers Bangalore with a perfect start against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. He struck twice to have Kolkata at three for the loss of two wickets in match 39 of IPL 2020.

Both teams made a couple of changes going into this game. Royal Challengers Bangalore brought in Mohammed Siraj in place of Shahbaz Ahmed which paid dividends for Virat Kohli & Co. Asked to bowl first, Bangalore reaped rewards from the wicket to reduce Kolkata Knight Riders to 3 for 3.

Mohammed Siraj knocks off Nitish Rana

After removing Rahul Tripathi with an out-swinger, Mohammad Siraj bowled a perfect in-swinger first up to Nitish Rana. There was no extravagant movement, but enough to trouble the batsmen. The southpaw was half-forward to push it into the off-side. He doesn’t account for the inward movement and ended up playing outside the line.

The ball came in through the bat-pad gap to knock off Nitish Rana’s off-stump. There was a leg gully put in place just as Rana came in, which might’ve played with his mind. Mohammed Siraj looked extremely elated so was his teammates as Royal Challengers Bangalore took an early grip in the match.

With Tom Banton and Shubman Gill at the crease, Kolkata Knight Riders needed a big partnership but both of the departed soon. This brought skipper Eoin Morgan and Dinesh Karthik in the middle with Kolkata in deep trouble. They tried to steer the innings adding 18 runs before Yuzvendra Chahal struck to remove Karthik.

KKR will not want a big knock from Morgan to put a respectable total on the board and give their bowlers something to bowl at.
