Former England player Nick Compton, who represented England in 16 Tests was recently asked to pick his current Test XI on an Instagram live show ‘Say Yash To Sports’. Compton’s line up included the likes Virat Kohli, David Warner, Cheteshwar Pujara but only 2 English cricketers featured in his XI.

The Englishman’s line up had a mix of stability and aggression, with David Warner and Pujara at the top and the likes of Kohli, Steve Smith & Kane Williamson in the middle order.
Four Indians make the cut
His bowling attack consisted the deadly trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins. whereas either one of Nathan Lyon or Ravichandran Ashwin will assume the spin duties.

Lower down the order, he chose Ben stokes as his all-rounder and the latter’s countrymate Jonny Bairstow as the wicket-keeper of the side. However, Nick Compton didn’t pick the captain of the side, but it was very evident that one of Kohli and Williamson would take the charge.Â
The power-packed Test XI picked by Nick Compton can as well be the World Test XI in the future. Technically, it possesses the ability to beat any Test side in the world.
Meanwhile, Compton’s playing had a brief Test career. He was in and out of the side which is why he just scored two hundred and two fifties in his 16 Test match career.
After a long and successful professional career in 2018, Nick Compton announced retirement from first-class cricket. The Englishman’s family has a deep history when it comes to cricket. Nick’s grandfather ‘Denis Compton’ represented England in over 78 Tests and also played in the 1944-45 season of Ranji trophy for Holkar.
