Virat Kohli Is A Terrific Guy Who Plays Hard: Steve Smith

Virat Kohli and  Steve Smith have arguably been the best batsmen of contemporary cricket. While Virat is considered the modern maestro in the limited-overs, Smith’s red-ball record is next to Sir Don Bradman. Despite the neck-to-neck competition between them, Smith and Kohli have a great deal of respect for each other.

Steve Smith has been seen praising Virat Kohli on many occasions. On the other hand, Virat asking Indians fan to not boo Smith during the match between India and Australia in World Cup 2019 is so heart-melting.

Virat Kohli is a terrific guy – Steve Smith

After the ball-tampering incident, Smith and Warner have made their comeback in International Cricket, they have got a hostile reception many times from the crowd. But Virat’s reaction during the World Cup match against Australia won many cricket fan’s hearts and probably Steve Smith’s too.

Smith in a recent chat show with Star Sports, he revealed how the World Cup incident strengthened his relationship with Virat. The talismanic run-scorer also revealed how he is in touch with him amid this pandemic.

“I had few conversations with him(Virat) off the field, few messages here and there in recent times just to see how things are going in India. Kohli is a terrific guy and we both play hard out on the field and play as well for our respective teams and it’s part of the game,” said Smith on Star Sports Cricket Connected.

He also showed in the show how well Virat has led Team India and how eagerly, he is waiting for the series against them later this year. The No. 1 and 2 Test teams will lock horns later this year in a four-match Test series as a part of the World Test Championship.

“Virat’s gesture in the World Cup to the Indian fans that were giving me and David Warner little bit of a stick, I appreciated that and I share that with him straight up. He is a terrific guy and the way he has led the Indian Team has been amazing, they are amazing side and can’t wait to play with them when they come out to Australia this year will be something incredibly special,” added Smith.
