Former Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha has named MS Dhoni’s successor after reports are ripe that this might be the last IPL season for the CSK skipper. While Ravindra Jadeja is being touted as the next skipper of the team, Ojha has a different name on his mind. He wants Kane Williamson to be named as the next skipper. He thinks the Kiwi skipper is underused at Sunrisers Hyderabad and thus will be better suited at CSK with quality players in the side.

Kane Williamson took Sunrisers Hyderabad to the IPL final in 2018 in the absence of David Warner who was banned from playing that season due to the ball-tampering scandal. He also took his national team to the 2019 World Cup final.

Pragyan Ojha spoke to Cricbuzz and shared his thoughts on who should be the next CSK skipper.

Kane Williamson Should be CSK Captain Next Season: Pragyan Ojha

“He (Ravindra Jadeja) can be a vice-captain where if you need some help then can be your guy. But if you’re talking about captaincy, then if there’s one guy who can do it, it’s Kane Williamson. He isn’t being utilized much there (at SRH)” said Ojha.

Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their fifth game in this IPL season. They have won just one out of six games and are languishing at the bottom of the table. CSK, on the other hand, won five on the bounce and are currently topping the table.

CSK and SRH have three more games to play in Delhi. CSK play Mumbai Indians next while Hyderabad play Rajasthan Royals next. CSK and RCB are the two teams on 10 points each after first six games in IPL 2021.

Out of the 56 league matches, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata & Bengaluru will host 10 matches each while Ahmedabad and Delhi will host 8 matches each.
