Ravichandran Ashwin, who is celebrating his 34th birthday today, silenced a Pakistani on twitter after the user tried to mock the ace Indian spinner, reminding him of his ‘mankading incident’ in IPL 2019.

The Pakistan Twitter user said Ravichandran Ashwin should learn some sportsmanship from Australian pacer Mitchell Starc, after he warned England’s Adil Rashid to not leave his crease in the third ODI between the two teams in Manchester on Wednesday, September 16.

Taking to Twitter, the Pakistani wrote ” Please learn something @ashwinravi99 This is how you play the game. #ENGvAUS”.

Ravichandran Ashwin Silences a Troll

Ravichandran Ashwin, on his part, did not take the words lightly on his birthday and silenced the troll with a straightforward answer.

“I believe in fighting the good fight but wait till the day after and I will get back to you on this. I would like to give a day to myself” wrote Ashwin.”

Ravichandran Ashwin has been at the receiving end of a lot of criticism ever since ‘ Mankading’ Rajasthan Royals batsman Jos Buttler in IPL 2019. However, he has very vocal in telling that what he did was within the rulebook of international cricket.

In the IPL 2020 auction, he was traded by Delhi Capitals for 7.6 crores. The 33-year-old spinner has been among the top performers in the IPL since making his debut in 2009, having snared 125 wickets from 139 games at an excellent economy rate of 6.79. He was an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings side that won back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2011.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals coach Ricky Ponting has said that he will not allow something on the lines of mankading in the Delhi camp and also had a conversation with Ashwin regarding the same.

Delhi will be staring their IPL 2020 campaign against Kings XI Punjab on September 20, in Dubai.
