Team India limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma is one of the best batters in world cricket right now. Starting from a humble background, the cricketer from Mumbai has reached the highs of life. Recently, Rohit Sharma revealed his first paycheck as a cricketer during a social media chat.

Amid the ongoing break due to COVID-19 outbreak, cricketers are attending question-answer sessions on social media to stay connected with the fans. Recently, Rohit Sharma organised one such session where fans bombarded him with questions from all sphere of life.

“How much was your first paycheck worth and at what age did you get it? How did you spend it, with friends or family?” a fan asked Rohit on Twitter. 

Rohit Sharma can with a subtle answer quickly which left the fans surprised. The star batsman revealed that he received Rs 50 for the first time playing cricket. Rohit also divulged how he spent the money.

“My first paycheck was not a paycheck, it was cash which I won playing near my society. It was 50 rupees. It was spent by eating roadside vada paav with my friends,” revealed Rohit Sharma.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma has come a long way from then. Currently, he is one of the richest cricketers in the world. He is currently in BCCI’s top category which fetches him INR 7 crore annually. Along with that, he earns a double of this amount playing in the IPL. He also endorses a couple of brands from where he earns a whopping amount.

Speaking on the game, Rohit Sharma last turned up during the T20I series against New Zealand. He suffered a finger injury and subsequently missed the ODIs and Tests. He will next feature during IPL 2020, which will get underway from September 19 in the UAE. Mumbai Indians will look to defend the title and bring home their fifth trophy.
