Royal Challengers Bangalore Spinner To Miss IPL 2021 Season Opener Against Mumbai Indians

Royal Challengers Bangalore will be without a key spinner in the season opener of IPL 2021 against Mumbai India. The Royal Challengers Bangalore will be taking on the defending champions Mumbai India in the opening encounter on April 9 in Chennai. RCB’s Director of Cricket Mike Hesson has revealed that spinner Adam Zampa will be not available for the first match of the season due to his marriage. Zampa has decided to skip the opening match of the season because of his marriage and is likely to join the Royal Challengers Bangalore after a few days.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will be without Adam Zampa in the season opener

“We won’t have our full contingent of overseas players available for the first game. Adam Zampa is getting married. It’s an important time for him and it’s something that as a franchise we are aware of and we respect and we hope he has a great time. So when he joins us, once again he is going to be fresh and make a massive contribution to the rest of the tournament”, Hesson told on Bold Diaries.

Meanwhile, Adam Zampa is among a list of team members, including players and support staff, who’ll arrive in a staggered manner in the build-up to IPL 2021. Mike Hesson also announced that premier overseas players of Royal Challengers Bangalore such as Ab de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell will arrive at different times until April 1. As far as the RCB skipper Virat Kohli is concerned he will join the squad a day or two after the conclusion of the ODI series against England.

Talking about the bio-bubble Hesson said, “The thing we noticed last year when you are in the bio-bubble you don’t want to jam-pack everything into the first few days. You want to make sure your culture is quite organic and it’s something that develops and grows as we start to understand and respect that our players have been in bubbles potentially the last 6-8 months and have gone from bubble to bubble.

“We are making sure we are functioning and firing for the whole tournament and not just push guys for the first game”, he said.
