Sachin Tendulkar in his illustrious 24 years international cricket career dominated some of the greatest bowlers of all time. The ‘little master’ stood the test of time and succeed in every condition as a batsman. Tendulkar is still the leading run-getter in Tests and ODIs and is widely noted as the most complete batsman of all time.

Post-retirement Tendulkar still actively follows the game and gives his rare insights on various social media platforms. Recently in a Q&A on his YouTube channel, Tendulkar was put on the spot as of his fans asked him to name a bowler from the current era whom he would have loved to face.

It Would Be Fun To Face Rashid Khan- Sachin Tendulkar

In the modern era, the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Kagiso Rabada and Jofra Archer are all rated very highly in all formats of the game. However, Tendulkar named a spinner that he would have liked to bat against in his prime. The bowler that Tendulkar picked is none other than the spinning wizard from Afghanistan Rashid Khan.

“If I have to face one bowler from this generation, it would be Rashid [Khan]. Almost everyone has talked so much about his bowling and I’ve also enjoyed it. So it will be interesting to face him because of the way he disguises – the googly, leg-spin and topspin – he has quite a few variations. It would be fun to go out and face him”, Tendulkar said while replying to a question during a Q/A session on his YouTube channel.

Meanwhile, this is now the first time Tendulkar has acknowledged the skills of Rashid Khan. During the recently concluded IPL 2020, Tendulkar was thoroughly impressed with the way Rashid outfoxes the batsmen and keeps on picking wickets in the shortest format.

The leg-spinner is now considered as the best T20 spinner in the world. Rashid has tasted success in top T20 leagues such as IPL and BBL in Australia. The leg-spinner has made a massive contribution to Afghanistan cricket as they continue to improve rapidly.
