All eyes were glued to the televisions yesterday as IPL 2020 commenced in Abu Dhabi. After long wait fans ultimately got to see the return of MS Dhoni to the cricket field. Dhoni before the match against MI last played a competitive match 437 days ago.

Understandably the buzz and anticipation for Dhoni’s appearance to cricket were at the peak. Cricket enthusiasts were waiting with bated breath to see their favourite ‘Thala’ was once lead the CSK in the IPL.

Interestingly not only fans but Mrs Dhoni herself was delighted to see her husband return to action. As soon as Sakshi got a glimpse of ‘Handsome Mahi’ during the toss she immediately posted a story on her Instagram account. She even tagged the official page of Chennai Super Kings as she declared that she was also rooting for Dhoni’s team from home.

Meanwhile, Dhoni spent his lockdown with his family at his farmhouse at his hometown in Ranchi. Dhoni and Sakshi along with their daughter Ziva and their adoring pets were seen enjoying the nature when COVID-19 pandemic was at its top in the country.

After a long delay, Dhoni finally reverted to the field much to the delight of his countless fans. In the end, it proved to be a memorable outing as his team won the season opener of IPL 2020. The Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by 5 wickets and registered the first victory of IPL this year.

Moreover, Dhoni, as usual, looked calmed and collective on the field as he made some brilliant bowling changes while captaining on the field. Dhoni’s men will now take on Rajasthan Royals in their second clash of IPL this year on 22nd September at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
