The cricket world is abuzz with excitement as the ICC Champions Trophy returns in 2025, bringing the sport’s top nations into a thrilling two-week showdown. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released an electrifying teaser featuring cricketing icons like Hardik Pandya, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Nabi, and Phil Salt.

The “All On The Line” Campaign

The ICC Champions Trophy, known as a “mini World Cup,” is a prestigious One-Day International (ODI) tournament showcasing the top eight teams in world cricket. Since its inception in 1998, it has delivered unforgettable moments and intense rivalries, solidifying its reputation as a fan favorite.

To kickstart the 2025 edition, the ICC unveiled its “All On The Line” campaign. This high-energy promotional film captures the nail-biting essence of the tournament. Fans witness players navigating immense pressure, making split-second decisions, and competing with everything on the line.

Superstars Fronting the Campaign

The teaser takes the form of a museum heist, with Shaheen Afridi and Shadab Khan sneaking into a highly secure building to steal the Champions Trophy. However, things take a dramatic turn when Hardik Pandya appears on the scene, and the India-Pakistan rivalry unfolds in front of the coveted trophy, which is kept in a laser-protected room.

The teaser ends with a message from Hardik Pandya, who says he’s enjoying the competition. The Champions Trophy will take place from February 19 to March 9, with matches being held across three venues in Pakistan and Dubai.

India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya expressed his enthusiasm for the tournament, stated, “The return of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy is a significant boost to cricket, adding depth and context to the One-Day format. This iconic tournament promises to reignite excitement among fans and players alike. India is ready to showcase its unique brand of cricket, with every player committed to bringing the trophy home again.”

England batter Phil Salt also shared his thoughts on the tournament, stated, “Playing for England in the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy is a huge honour. We know it’s going to be a very competitive tournament but we have an exciting group and we are going to give it our best effort to lift the trophy”.

Afghanistan’s all-rounder Mohammad Nabi expressed his team’s eagerness to compete against the best teams in the world and make their nation proud in their first appearance at the Men’s Champions Trophy.

Nabi commented, “It’s Afghanistan’s first time at the Men’s Champions Trophy, we can’t wait to compete against the best of the best and make our nation proud.”

Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi spoke about the significance of the tournament for his country, stated, “For Pakistan, cricket is more than a game—it’s our passion, our pride, our identity and as defending Champions and tournament hosts, there’s everything to play for. I’m sure the whole of Pakistan is eagerly awaiting the 19th of February, it’ll be a spectacle like no other.”

Tournament Format and Schedule

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is set to feature the best eight cricketing nations battling across 15 matches. Hosted by Pakistan, with select games in the UAE, the tournament runs from 19 February to 9 March 2025.

India will begin their campaign against Bangladesh in Dubai on February 20, a day after Pakistan face New Zealand in the tournament opener in Karachi. Pakistan is the defending champion of the Champions Trophy, having won the title in 2017 by defeating India in the final. The tournament returns to the cricket calendar after an eight-year hiatus, with Pakistan looking to make a strong statement as they host the event

Unlike other tournaments, the Champions Trophy’s compact format means every match counts. With no second chances, teams must deliver their best from start to finish.
