The BCCI released fresh footage of the squad ahead of their white-ball series against Sri Lanka. The Indian players were seen prepping for a photoshoot, which happens to the first for a few of them in an Indian jersey.
The Indian squad has six uncapped players. Many of them are likely to make their debuts in the upcoming series. Coach Rahul Dravid already has experience of working with youngsters, having coached U-19 squads before. In the build-up to the series, the Indian players had a fun-filled outing while participating in the photoshoot.
Although the shooting session looked intense, the team proceeded to relax by playing Table Tennis and Pool. Senior pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar was seen playing a game of football in a laid-back environment. The BCCI shared the video of the same with the caption:
“When #TeamIndia went Lights Camera Action. The excitement is building up ahead of the ODI series against Sri Lanka #SLvIND”

The ODI series will begin on the 18th of July
The start of the series was postponed due to a covid-19 scare in the Lankan squadron. Batting coach Andy Flower and data analyst G T Niroshan tested positive, just days after finishing the tour of England. All the players were asked to quarantine, and therefore the matches against India had to be rescheduled.
The Indian players finished their quarantine and are buzzing to get the series underway. Since the T20 World Cup is coming up in a couple of months time, the youngsters will be looking to make the most of their opportunity.
Although Team India is currently having trouble finding a settled spinner, this white-ball series should give a clear indication on who is the best choice going ahead into the marquee event. Yuzvendra Chahal, Rahul Chahar, and Varun Chakravarthy are likely to be the favored options.
