The 31-year-old has over 7000 Test runs at a remarkable average of over 60. However, when it comes to ODI cricket, Virat Kohli is head and shoulders above the rest including Smith.

Now recently during a fun Q&A on Instagram, Smith by one of his followers was quizzed about who according to him is the best ODI batsman in the world. Without any surprises, he picked Virat Kohli as the best in 50 over cricket at the moment.

Meanwhile, Smith is ranked number 1 is Test whereas Kohli is at the top in the ODI rankings for batsmen. In the last few years, the two modern greats have always had a mutual admiration for one another’s game. Their rivalry is regarded as one of the best in world cricket as they are by far the two standout batsmen of their generation.

Moreover, Smith in his Q&A also praised India’s new wicket-keeper batsman in white-ball cricket KL Rahul. When a fan asked Smith to describe Rahul in one word, the Aussie wrote ‘Gun’.

He further also praised his Rajasthan Royals teammate Jos Buttler. Smith termed the Englishmen as a terrific player and sarcastically asked him to save all his runs for the IPL and not against his side in the 3 match ODI series starting tomorrow.

Furthermore, Smith will now be featuring in the ODI series against England after the host won the T20 series 2-1. All the ODIs will be played at Old Trafford in a bio-secure bubble in under a week.

After the conclusion of the Series, all Aussie and England players who are part of the IPL will depart for the UAE. The 13th edition of the IPL is all set to begin from September 19 to November 10 in the United Arab Emirates.
