Team India suffered a disappointing defeat against Australia in the 2023 World Test Championship final at The Kennington Oval in London. This was their second consecutive defeat in the final of the World Test Championship. They lost to New Zealand at Rose Bowl in the inaugural cycle of the tournament.
The Indian team is currently on a break for a few weeks, before kicking off the next World Test Championship cycle of 2023-25. They begin the next cycle against the West Indies in a two-match Test series from July 12 at Windsor Park, Roseau, Dominica. The second Test will take place in Trinidad. The last time, India toured West Indies for playing red-ball cricket, they emerged winners in both tests.
Following the West Indies series, India will be busy with white-ball cricket, preparing for the ICC World Cup. They play their next Test series in December, touring South Africa, followed by England’s tour of India. The Indian team will also take on Bangladesh and New Zealand at home in the 2023-25 World Test Championship cycle. The cycle will come to an end with an away series against Australia in November 2024.
