The Lyca Kovai Kings won their second match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2021. They defeated the Siechem Madurai Panthers on Wednesday. However, Siechem Madurai Panthers’ opener KB Arun Karthik won the hearts with his heartfelt sportsmanship act.

The Tamil Nadu Premier League posted a video of the incident on their official Twitter handle. The Lyca Kovai Kings right arm pacer Abhishek Tanwar dismissed KB Arun Karthik’s opening partner K Rajkumar for 15 runs. Things got a bit ugly as Abhishek and KB Arun Karthik got involved in an argument in the heat of the moment.

The umpires tried to interrupt and calm things down. Later, KB Arun Karthik walked up to the pacer and gave him a hug to settle things. This act of his has won hearts and garnered praise on social media.

The Siechem Madurai Panthers won the toss and asked the Kings to bat first. Sai Sudharsan and captain Shahrukh Khan each scored fifties to take their side to a total of 172 at the end of 20 overs. Kiran Akash, right arm pacer took two wickets conceding 40 runs in his full quota of ten overs.

While chasing, the Siechem Madurai Panthers captain NS Chaturvedi and Arun Karthik played a fine hand with the bat but their stay at the crease was cut short by Ajith Ram. Ajith and R Divakar picked up three wickets each to restrict the panthers to 153.

Lyca Kovai Kings are sitting at the top with two wins in four matches, including a No result. They will play next against the IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans on July 31. On the same day, the Siechem Madurai Panthers, who are seventh on the table will take on the Nellai Royal Kings.
