3. HAPPY HAT-TRICK DAY
Hattricks in any sport always hold great value and in the 10th season of IPL we had 3 of them! Interestingly, two of them were claimed on the very same day. On 14th April 2017, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Samuel Badree took the first hattrick of the edition in a match against the Mumbai Indians. This match was followed by the 08:00 pm game between the Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiant.
GL’s Andrew Tye happened to take a hattrick and in the same manner as the first one in the day was taken. Not only did Tye become the first bowler to claim a hattrick on IPL debut but also took the first 5-wicket haul of IPL 10. The third hattrick was taken by Pune’s Jaydev Unadkat against Hyderabad on 6th May 2017.
