Mumbai Indians have made a resounding start against Kolkata Knight Riders after their defeat against Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2020 opener. Skipper Rohit Sharma looked in the right mood today as he dispatched everything out of the park . Meanwhile, social media website Twitter was on fire as soon as Rohit Sharma reached his fifty against KKR.
Put to bat first by Dinesh Karthik, Mumbai took the attack to the opposition despite losing Quinton de Kock early. Young Shivam Mavi removed the South African early to draw the first blood. But since then, it was a one-way traffic at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
Rohit Sharma scores an extraordinary fifty against KKR
The Mumbai duo put everything out of the park especially Rohit. The India opener looked in no mood to stop as he dispatched anything short of a length. Sandeep Warrior shelled 24 runs from his two overs while Pat Cummins – the expensive cricketer in the auction gave 15 runs from his sole over.
The Mumbai skipper, who was coming from a poor run in the last game, looked like he belongs to this place as Mumbai raced towards a big target. Suryakumar Yadav, who has been ever consistent, also complimented well from the other end.
Mumbai Indians registered 94 runs from 10 overs although the flow of boundaries reduced with the introduction of the spinners. Although the boundaries dried since the powerplay, Rohit Sharma played some classical shots matched by control aggression to bring his first fifty of the season.
