Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has taken a dig at Indian spinner Amit Mishra for his latest tween on Babar Azam. The Pakistan skipper has not been in the best of forms in the ongoing 2022 T20 World Cup. He has struggled to make an impact in the tournament so far for Pakistan.

In three matches, Babar Azam has scored only eight runs, including a golden duck against India, in Pakistan’s opening match of the tournament. The right-handed batter’s form has become a cause of concern for Pakistan, as they have only two points from three games.

Indian cricketer Amit Mishra took to Twitter recently, and wrote, “This shall too pass. Stay Strong,” tagging Babar Azam. Now, former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has taken a dig at Amit Mishra. In an interview, he expressed that Mishra’s tweet was not in the right taste.

“Ye jo aap naam le rahe hain Amit Mishra, ye bhi India se khela hua hai. Ye spinner tha ki batsman tha? (This name you’re taking, Amit Mishra, he has also played for India. Was he a spinner or a batsman?). Koi baat nahi. Chalein aage. This too shall pass. (Don’t worry. Let’s move on),” he said to Samaa TV.

Pakistan ranks fifth on the points table

The Pakistan cricket team ranks fifth on the Group 2 points table in the 2022 T20 World Cup. They lost their first two matches of the tournament, against India and Zimbabwe. The Babar Azam-led team, defend 160 runs against India, while they could not chase down 130 against Zimbabwe.

Pakistan made a decent comeback against the Netherlands, winning the match by six wickets. Bowling first, they restricted the Netherlands to 91 runs in 20 overs. In the second innings, they chased down the target in around 14 overs. Pakistan will take on South Africa next at the Sydney Cricket Ground on November 3.
