Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has engaged in a Twitter banter with former England skipper Michae Vaughan over the latter’s recent comments on Michael Vaughan. While speaking about the upcoming World Test Championship final, Vaughan said that Kohli is more popular than Kane Williamson as he is an Indian and has a good social media following. 

These words by Michael Vaughan irked the Indian fans who came down hard on him on Twitter. Taking a cue from the fans, Wasim Jaffer too trolled Vaughan for his comments on Kohli.

Meanwhile, Michael Vaughan also backed Kane Williamson to score more runs than Virat Kohli in the upcoming English summer. Virat Kohli annd Kane Williamson are regarded among the greatest batsmen in the modern era alongside Joe Root, Steve Smith and Pakistan skipper Babar Azam who has risen up the ranks quickly in recent times.

Kohli will be playing five Test matches in England including the World Test Championship final and four against England. Williamson will be playing three. 

Michael Vaughan also said that Virat Kohli has struggled in the English conditions and against the moving ball for the most part barring the 2018 tour, whereas Kane Williamson has been successful. The former English middle-order batsman feels that Williamson remains one of the greatest all-format batsmen today and is up there with Virat Kohli.

The 2005-Ashes winning captain hailed Williamson for his humility and calm demeanour, stating he is equally good across formats. Earlier, Wasim Jaffer accused the Englishman of poking unnecessarily and Vaughan responded by saying “I presume you are agreeing with me Wasim”
