Wasim Jaffer Reacts Hilariously To Marcus Harris’ Comments On Cheteshwar Pujara

Former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer has aced his Twitter game once again with his recent reaction to Marcus Harris’ comments on Cheteshwar Pujara. Pujara, who was one of the heroes of India’s Test series win in Australia, was hit as many as 14 times in his helmet and the body throughout the four-Test match series. Pujara was defiant enough to not show any pain and still play with a smile on his face.

Recently Marcus Harris was quoted by Hindustan Times saying that Cheteshwar Pujara batted like an Australian in the Test series as he batted with the pain. Not showing any emotion despite being pinned down is one of Australia’s traits in international cricket and Harris said Pujara showed quite a lot of it.

“The final day was amazing to watch. The thought process the whole day was, ‘Are they going to for the runs or are they not?’ I think Rishabh played the best innings that day. But Cheteshwar Pujara copped an absolute barrage from everyone and wore them down. I felt he batted a bit like an Australian, taking everything on the chest. Everyone else batted around him,” Marcus Harris said in a podcast on Cricket Life Stories.

Wasim Jaffer through his tweet reacted to the comment by Harris. He very wittily said that it would have been better if the Australians had batted that way, they would have not lost the Test series. After losing the first Test in Adelaide, India won in Melbourne and The Gabba to win the series 2-1. “Wonder why the Australians didn’t bat like Australians” tweeted Jaffer.

Meanwhile, the Indian team is currently quarantining in Mumbai before leaving for the UK on June 2. Courtesy of their Test series wins against Australia and England they made it to the WTC final which will be played between June 18-22 in Southampton. Following the World Test Championship final, India will stay back in England to play a five-match Test series against the host nation.
