Former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli was infuriated after he was given out to a controversial LBW against Mumbai Indians on Saturday. Although it didn’t had any impact on the outcome of the game, Kohli was livid with the poor judgement of the TV umpire.

Kohli was well-placed on 48 runs as RCB were 8 runs away from their third victory. With the match done and dusted, Rohit Sharma introduced young Dewald Brevis into the attack. The young Proteas cricketer bowled a length delivery sliding through on middle. It looked like an inside edge before it hit the pad.

But Brevis along with other Mumbai Indians teammates appealed and Virender Sharma obliged to it, raising his fingers. But Virat Kohli was sure that the ball had hit his bat before it hit the pad and went for the review.

Replays showed that the bat was not that far in front of the pad and might have taken a faint edge before hitting the legs. However, the TV umpire thought otherwise and ruled it in favour of the fielding team.

Virat Kohli, on his way back to the dugout, smashed his bat on the ground in agony with the controversial decision. He also missed the half-century by two runs.

All-round RCB trump Mumbai Indians by seven wickets

The Royal Challengers produced another complete effort to rout five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.

Riding on a good show from the bowlers, RCB restricted Mumbai to 151 runs. Rohit Sharma and Co. were reduced to 79/6 but Suryakumar Yadav powered Mumbai to a challenging total with an unbeaten half-century.

In reply, Anuj Rawat got RCB off to a flying start before Virat Kohli took over the mantle. Rawat and Kohli shared an 80-run stand for the second wicket to set up the run chase before Glenn Maxwell won it with two boundaries.

With this victory, Royal Challengers Bangalore now have six points from four games. They are currently third in the IPL 2022 points table after Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans.
