India and Sri Lanka are currently facing each other in the 2nd Test match at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. India have one change in the playing XI as Axar Patel comes in for Jayant Yadav.
The Indian batting however didn’t get the best of starts. During the 2nd over of the match, Sri Lanka’s Left arm pacer Vishwa Fernando bowled a delivery which hit the pads of Mayank Agarwal. The Sri Lankans appealed for an LBW but the umpire denied it. In the meanwhile, Mayank ran to take a quick single as the ball deflected to the off-side from his pads.
However Rohit Sharma at the non-striker wasn’t looking for a run, which left Mayank stranded in the middle of the pitch. Praveen Jayawickrama was quick to throw the ball to the keeper’s end and and hence Mayank was run-out in a very unfortunate way.
Later the third umpire informed the on-field umpire that it was a no-ball as well. Hence a lot of action happened on that single ball, LBW appeal, no ball and a run out.
Mayank Agarwal walked back to the pavillion after scoring 4 runs off 7 deliveries.

Mayank Agarwal to lead Punjab Kings in IPL 2022
Mayank Agarwal is set to lead the Punjab Kings in the upcoming IPL season. Mayank was one of the two players retained by the Punjab franchise ahead of the IPL 2022 auctions.
In the last season, when KL Rahul was ruled out due to acute appendicitis, Mayank had led the side for one game. There were speculations that Shikhar Dhawan would be named the Punajb captain for IPL 2022, but the team has decided to go with Mayank, who has been with the franchise since 2018 and has been one of their most consistent performers.
