Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer was recently seen enjoying a game of indoor cricket at his apartment alongside his 2025 IPL teammate Shashank Singh. The duo engaged in a light-hearted Super Over challenge, with Iyer needing 12 runs to win against Shashank’s bowling.

The friendly contest began with Shashank briefing his skipper on the field setup. Iyer humorously pointed out that wide yorkers weren’t allowed, likely due to the limited space in the corridor they were playing in. After conceding a few boundaries, Shashank Singh increased his pace, prompting a light-hearted response from Shreyas.

“Gusse mein pace badh gaya. (His pace has increased because of anger.)”

The Punjab franchise shared the entertaining video on Instagram, showcasing the fun bonding session between the two teammates.

“Rain hits. No field? No problem. Super over indoors. Brotherhood forever.”

Shreyas Iyer became the second-highest-priced player in IPL history after being acquired by PBKS for a massive ₹26.75 crore during the mega auction. He was also named the team’s new captain ahead of the season.

Leading from the front, Shreyas guided PBKS to the final, where they narrowly missed out on the title, suffering a heartbreaking six-run loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Shreyas Iyer Spotted Playing Indoor Cricket With His Mother

On Monday, June 30, PBKS shared a heartwarming video on their Instagram handle featuring Shreyas Iyer playing indoor cricket with his mother. In the clip, his mother was seen bowling to him in their living room. The video quickly went viral on social media, with fans especially enjoying her joyful celebration after dismissing her son.

While posting the video, PBKS captioned it:

“Only time SARPANCH won’t mind getting bowled!”
