The KL Rahul-ledTeam India has hit the ground running on Monday ahead of the five-match T20I series against South Africa. The first T20I will take place on June 9 at the Arun Jaitely Stadium in Delhi.
The South African team arrived in Delhi on June 2 and has already begun their preparation. Meanwhile, the Indian squad was on a break following the conclusion of the Indian Premier League 2022 season. They assembled in Delhi on Sunday, June 5, and started their training session today.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India shared a post on their social media handle from India’s training session on Monday. In the video the Indian head coach, Rahul Dravid is seen addressing the squad before the practice session.

Umran Malik earns maiden call-up for T20I series against South Africa
The Board of Control for Cricket in India recently announced an 18-member squad for the upcoming T20I series. Skipper Rohit Sharma and other senior players like have been given rest for the series. Opening batter KL Rahul will handle the captaincy duties for India in the five-match T20I series.
Meanwhile, the Indian squad boasts of some young talent such as the likes of Umran Malik, Ravi Bishnoi, etc. Leg-spinner Yuvendra Chahal has also been included in the squad after a brilliant Indian Premier League 2022 performance.
