MS Dhoni retired from international cricket after the 2019 World Cup. However, his legacy is still very much rooted within the players who are currently a part of the Indian cricket team. Many of the current players started playing just after MS Dhoni became the captain of the Indian team. Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina are examples of cricketers who have been groomed by the former Indian skipper and turned them into match-winners.

The IPL and Chennai Super Kings have also played a clinical role in making MS Dhoni a brand in international cricket. He played a knock of 119 * helping India to beat Pakistan in the process by 8 wickets. He finished the game off with a six just after having got to a three-figure mark. The habit of finishing games with a si inculcated within him right from his India A days and the world got to see a lot of that during his international career. Misbah-Ul-Haq led the Pakistan team and his bowlers took a beating all-round the park at the Nairobi Gymkhana stadium.

He hit nine fours and five sixes in his innings leaving a lasting impression on the cricketing world. From his flick shots to the popular helicopter shot, Dhoni had a few tricks up his sleeve during that knock. That knock helped him earn his maiden ODI cap later that year in 2004 and by early 2006, Dhoni was a regular in the Indian playing XI.
