However, Viswanathan has rubbished all such claims. He reminded that Chennai Super Kings already have eight foreign players as per the rule and there is scope to rope another overseas cricketer.
“This is news to me as well because our quota of foreign players is already full. So I don’t know how we can have another foreigner in the squad,” he said.
Furthermore, Kasi Viswanathan also revealed that fast bowler Deepak Chahar will resume training from today. Incidentally, the cricketer contracted COVID-19 along with other 12 members of the squad. He has completed his mandatory quarantine and tested negative twice before rejoining the squad.
The pacer from Rajasthan has cleared the mandatory fitness test imposed by BCCI before resuming training.
“Deepak has all the necessary clearance from the CSK and BCCI side and will start training from today,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ruturaj Gaikwad continues to remain in quarantine. He will have to give two negative tests in 24 hours before joining the squad and resuming practice.
