“Immediately Knew Mohammad Siraj Was Going To Have A Good Test Career” – Dale Steyn

South African speedster Dale Steyn is named among the greatest Pacers of all time. Dale Steyn has provided his views on team India’s pace battery ahead of the five-match Test series against England. Notably the India vs England series is all set to start from next month. Also, the series will be part of the new World Test Championship cycle.

Both the teams will be looking forward to starting the new WTC cycle with a series victory. Notably, Virat Kohli-led India was part of the finals of the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship.

India’s pace battery consists of some exceptionally talented pacers. Many experts believe that the Indian fast bowling unit is one of the best in the world. The pace unit includes Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Mohammad Siraj, and others. Recently Dale Steyn talked about Siraj and said he knew Siraj will touch big heights in Test cricket.

The legendary pacer Steyn praised Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Siraj for his good attitude on the field. He also said Siraj can get in opponents’ faces and make them play unwanted shots.

“I think he (Mohammed Siraj) brings a good attitude to the game. That’s another thing we tend to forget when you’re playing in English conditions. It’s not just about where you put the ball but also the attitude you bring, getting in people’s faces, making them play shots they don’t particularly want to play – I think Siraj is somebody who can do that.

“I saw parts of that little bit of fight when he played in Australia, and I immediately knew he was going to have a good Test career. Don’t forget about the attitude of a fast bowler too,” Steyn wrote in his column for ESPNCricinfo.

Mohammad Siraj got an opportunity to represent team India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21 against Australia. Meanwhile, Siraj started his career with a bang, becoming the highest wicket-taker for India in the series.

He impressed everyone in the debut series as he managed to get 12 scalps. Reportedly India is planning to include him in the first match of the five-match Test series against England.
