Virat Kohli, captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL has spoken out on a variety of issues that needs the opinion of the respective captains of all the teams. Ahead of their game against Kings XI Punjab in Sharjah on Thursday (October 15), he has again voiced in concern about the opinions of captains in the game. RCB is currently placed third in the points table and looks good to make it to the playoffs this season.

In an Instagram live session for Puma India along with KL Rahul, Kohli said that the captains should have the right to decide on wide balls and waist-high full tosses. He further said that when the decisions of the umpires are turning out t be the deciding factor a team winning and losing, captains will serve deciding on those issues far better.

Captains Should Decide Wide-Balls, Waist High Full-Toss – Virat Kohli

“I am going to speak as a captain. As a captain, I would like to have the ability to review a wide, which could be a wrong call, or a waist-high full-toss, which could be a wrong call,” Kohli said during an interaction with KL Rahul, his first guest of the evening.

“It is a fast-paced game and you can miss a small margin and we have all seen this is a big factor. If you lose the game by a run and you are not able to review that wide, it could make a massive difference in someone’s campaign,” Kohli added.

Meanwhile, KXIP skipper KL Rahul stood by Virat Kohli’s point. He said that if it helps the game to move forward in an unbiased manner it is a good thought.

Rahul is also of the opinion that each team should be allowed to use two reviews instead of one, which is the current rule.

Rahul seconded Kolhi and said: “If that rule comes in, it is very good. You can give a team two reviews and say you can use it for whatever.”

Rahul also said that he picked up a few points the likes of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli and used it in his first captaincy stint with KXIP.
