IPL 2022: 3 Uncapped Indian All-rounders To Watch Out For

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season is all set to kick-off from March 26. The final will be played on May 29. The league stage of the tournament will be held at four different venues: Wankhede and Brabourne Stadiums in Mumbai, DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, and MCA Stadium in Pune.

There are many promising talents who would be eagerly waiting to showcase their talent at the big stage. According to IPL’s definition, An uncapped player is one who has not represented his country at the international level in any format (Test, ODI or T20).

Here we take a look at three such uncapped Indian all-rounders who can make an impact in IPL 2022:

#3 Raj Bawa

Raj Bawa was acquired by Punjab Kings for INR 2 crores in the IPL 2022 mega-auctions.  He was the Player of the match in U-19 World Cup 2022 final which India won against England. In the all-important match, he registered a 5-wicket haul and made a useful contribution (35 runs) with the bat.

Raj is a player who can win games for his team with both bat and ball. Hence he can prove to be a key player for the Mayank Agarwal-led Punjab team in the upcoming season.

#2 Rajvardhan Hangargekar

Hangargekar was signed by Chennai Super Kings for INR 1.5 crores in the IPL 2022 mega-auctions. He was a key player in India’s 2022 U19 World Cup victory. He is a strong fast bowler and a power-hitter with the bat.

The young all-rounder has a reputation of hitting big sixes which he displayed against Ireland in the World Cup match. MS Dhoni and co. like to have players who possess multiple skills and hence Hangargekar can be a great assett for them, especially with Deepak Chahar likely to miss first half of the upcoming season.

It would be interesting to see how skipper MS Dhoni uses the youngster in the playing 11.

#3 Abhishek Sharma

Abhishek Sharma was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping 6.5 crores in the IPL 2022 auctions. SRH spin bowling coach Muttiah Muralitharan had revealed after the auctions that the franchise is planning to promote Abhishek Sharma in the opening slot for the upcoming IPL season.

Abhishek has played 2 IPL innings at that batting position in the past, scoring 46 runs at a strike rate of 177. The 21-year old is known for his freeflowing strokeplay and has shown glimpses of his talent in the tournament.

However, with the experience of four IPL seasons under his belt, more will be expected of him this time in the batting and spin bowling department.
