As the IPL 2020 is inching closers several cricket experts are giving their prediction concerning all players and teams. Recently the head coach of Delhi Capitals, Ricky Ponting picked the most dangerous player of Mumbai Indians.

Ponting had a tough choice to make as Mumbai Indians side is filled with match-winners in all departments. In the end, the former IPL winning MI coach picked none other than the skipper of the franchise Rohit Sharma.

In an interview with cricket.com.au, Ponting stated that Rohit is one of the leading T20 batsmen in the world that possess an outstanding record.

“Mumbai Indians dangerman for the season, Rohit Sharma their captain. One of the premier T20 batsmen in the world. He has got an outstanding record whether it be international cricket or in IPL”, said Ponting.

Rohit has so far led the MI franchise to 4 IPL titles in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019 respectively. Also with the bat his hand he was led his side from the front on numerous occasions and is currently the third-highest run-getter in IPL history. Ponting summed it up saying, Rohit is going through the best phase his career and is undoubtedly the dangerman of Mumbai Indians.

“He’s probably in his career-best form right now, it’s pretty hard to go past him,” added Ponting.
