Karnataka pacer Prasidh Krishna and Baroda all-rounder Krunal Pandya are likely to get their maiden ODI call-up in the upcoming ODI series against England. The three-match series will be played from March 23 in Pune. Krunal has already made his T20I debut for India back in 2018 while Prasidh will join the likes of Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Navdeep Saini and Shardul Thakur in the pace department.

Both the players have enjoyed a good run of form in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy which Mumbai won. While Prasidh Krishna has taken 14 wickets in the tournament, Krunal has scored 388 runs in five games at a strike rate of 117.93.

Meanwhile, further reports in Cricbuzz say that despite having outstanding seasons Prithvi Shaw and Devdutt Padikkal might miss out on making it to the Indian squad for the England series. The openers had top-scored in the tournament, with 827 and 737 runs respectively.

The selectors said that with the presence of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul and Shubman Gill around, the two might find it tough to break into the squad. Unless there is a last-minute change of plans, all four are certain to find a place in the squad for the three games

The India squad for England ODIs will be announced this week. The three ODIs will be played in Pune on March 23, 26 and 28. Ravindra Jadeja might continue to be on the sidelines it is reported that he might take some more time to get fit. Jasprit Bumrah too will miss the ODIs with his extended leave after his marriage.

Meanwhile, the final three T20I against England will be played in empty stadiums as a precautionary measure against rising COVID cases. The BCCI had a meeting with the Gujarat Cricket Association after which they arrived at a decision overnight.
