Virat Kohli who just became a proud father recently congratulated both Shardul and Sundar on their century stand on Day 3.

It received over 15000 retweets in a span of few hours and over 1000 comments and 161K ‘Heart’ reactions.

Shardul Thakur (67) joined Washington Sundar (62) with the Indians reeling at 186/6 after the fall of Pant for 23. The duo then added 123 off 217 to stage a memorable fightback and bringing the visitors back in the game in the process. Both the Indian batsmen frustrated the Australian bowlers with every run they scored in that partnership.

Reactions came in from former Indian cricketers as well. Virender Sehwag and VVS Laxman lauded the effort of the youngsters against the Australian pace trio of Josh Hazelwood, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins.

VVS Laxman captioned his latest post and wrote, “Congrats @Sundarwashi5 & @imShard on ur maiden Test 50’s. Loved the fight, technique and will power you both exhibited. Also a good example for young bowlers to work on their batting as you never know when your contribution with the bat will help the team.

Even Virender Sehwag tweeted and wrote, “If there is one word to describe the courage of this Indian team, it’s Dabanng. So daring and brave. Ati Sundar Thakur”
