Now before the final decision, the BCCI and selectors will have a look at the fitness report of Pant and inquire with India’s fitness trainer then conclude.
“The Indian team fitness trainer had shared his perspective on Pant some days ago and we believe he’s overweight. Regardless of what’s obvious on the field, the BCCI and the selectors will have to consider the fitness report on Pant before they can pick him. The selectors need to speak to trainer Nick Webb before taking the call,” a source told TOI.
Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant has played as a first choice wicketkeeper in India test squad on away tours since 2018. Wriddhiman Saha could get an opportunity if Pant fails to make the cut.
