The outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic has come down hard on human lives. A complete lockdown has been prevailing in most parts of the world in a bid to curb the spread of the deadly disease. The cricketers are also playing a significant role in raising awareness and Bangladesh Premier League franchise Chattogram Challengers are leaving no stones unturned to spread the message by illustrious cricketers across the length and breadth of the country.
Since COVID-19 broke out in China, it has spread like wildfire with the United States of America, Italy, Spain being the most affected countries. India have also witnessed a steep growth in the number of positive cases in the last few days with death toll almost touching 600 at the time of writing this article.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh is also witnessing a sharp growth in the number of cases with more than 400 new cases coming out each day. Those figures are still relatively low compared with the worst-hit regions including China, parts of Europe and the United States. But there are more chances of spreading in the coming days considering that millions live in packed slums with fragile public health systems.
Amid the outbreak of the pandemic, Chattogram Challengers team came up with a social awareness program. The Chattogram Challengers Managing Director Dato K.M Rifatuzzaman came up with this idea to spread positive awareness. Cricketers from different parts of the world who represent Chottogram are spreading important messages through video clips.

“As we all are sitting at home with aiming to keep our self and others safe. I was thinking what can we really do to inform more and more people about COVID-19. Then I thought as Chattogram Challengers has very good fan following and team players are icons. If they said something in simpler language so that maximum people can understand and would listen to them,” Rifatuzzaman said.
“As the message will interact more and more people. There is fact that everyone is contributing with money or food which is helping people to survive but it is also important to share the right knowledge and information to the mass people to help them prevent this virus. The platform of Chattogram Challengers is the best way of this awareness,” he added.
