[WATCH]- Prasidh Krishna Dismisses Jacob Bethell After 192-Run Opening Partnership

India pacer Prasidh Krishna gave the visitors their first breakthrough by dismissing England opener Jacob Bethell after a 192-run opening partnership in the third and final ODI at Lord’s on Sunday, July 19, providing India with a much-needed breakthrough after a wicketless opening 30 overs.

The dismissal came off the opening delivery of the 31st over. Krishna bowled a back-of-a-length ball outside off stump, and Bethell pulled it towards deep square leg, where Rohit Sharma took a comfortable catch. Watch the video here:

The left-handed opener fell just short of a maiden ODI hundred, scoring 91 off 93 deliveries with the help of 11 fours and two sixes.

Duckett-Bethell Stand Puts England in Command at Lord’s

England captain Harry Brook won the toss and elected to bat first, making one change to the XI with Josh Tongue replacing Saqib Mahmood. India made three changes, bringing in KL Rahul, Prince Yadav and Arshdeep Singh for Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar and the injured Jasprit Bumrah.

England openers Jacob Bethell and Ben Duckett gave the hosts a flying start, putting on 58 runs in the powerplay while keeping the Indian bowlers under constant pressure with positive strokeplay. Bethell reached his half-century from 51 balls in the 16th over before England moved to 125 without loss at the halfway stage.

Duckett completed his fifty off 64 deliveries in the 22nd over as the opening pair extended their partnership to 192 runs. Prasidh Krishna eventually broke the stand in the 31st over, dismissing Bethell for 91 after a superb 181-ball opening partnership.

At the time of writing, England were 206/1 after 33 overs, with Duckett unbeaten on 90 and Joe Root batting on five. The winner of the Lord’s decider will seal the three-match ODI series 2-1 after India won the opener and England levelled the series in Cardiff.
